2026-2027 Elections

We are pleased to announce the official results of the 2026–2027 Panel for Educational Policy (PEP) elections. The election results have been finalized and confirmed.

Please join us in congratulating the newly elected representatives:

  • Manhattan (Districts 1–6): Naveed Hasan, elected with 100% of the vote.
  • Bronx (Districts 7–12): LaTicia Thompson, elected with 66.7% of the vote.
  • Brooklyn (Districts 13–23 and 32): Faraji Hannah-Jones, elected with 80% of the vote.
  • Queens (Districts 24–30): Adriana Alicea, elected with 57.1% of the vote.
  • Staten Island (District 31): seat remains vacant at this time.

We extend our sincere congratulations to the elected representatives and thank all candidates and Community Education Council Presidents who participated in this important process. We look forward to the leadership, advocacy, and service these representatives will bring to the Panel for Educational Policy during the 2026–2027 term.

The Panel is currently seeking to fill a vacancy for the Staten Island representative. If you are interested in serving in this role, please complete the application linked below and submit it to PEPParentApplications@schools.nyc.gov by June 5, 2025.
