Art Exhibition Open Call: Do you love to make art? Great! Now show it—submit your new or existing 2D artwork for a chance to be part of a group art exhibition in a corporate office space! Open to all NYC public school and homeschool students in grades 6-12. Selected artists (and their teacher) will receive a $100 Blick gift card. Selected artwork will be framed and displayed in a group exhibition at a private office space for 1 year, then returned. Inspired by the Jewish Museum’s recent reimagining of the collection exhibition, middle and high school students are invited to submit original photographs that reflect the theme of renewal. Whether it’s the start of a new tradition, a personal transformation, or a collective shift in a community, this prompt is open to your creative and artistic interpretation. Students may submit up to three distinct photographs. All images and content must be the student’s own original work and free from copyright restrictions. The Lucille Lortel Theatre's NYC Public High School Playwriting Fellowship is an exciting playwriting mentorship program focused on sparking and showcasing young creative voices. Up to seven fellows will be chosen, from each of the five boroughs and from D75 and D79 schools. The fellowship culminates with an evening of staged readings with professional actors of these original student-written one-act plays. In 1996, the Mas Family established a scholarship fund to support the educational aspirations of talented young Cuban and Cuban American men and women. This enduring initiative reflects a profound belief in the power of hard work, dedication, and the opportunities possible in a free society. Students interested in applying must be Cuban or of direct Cuban descent, have a 3.5 GPA or higher, demonstrate leadership and community involvement, and have financial need. NYC Lifeguard Qualifying Test (16 years of age or older)

Being an NYC Parks Lifeguard is more than a summer job. It challenges you, strengthens you, and builds skills that last a lifetime. We're looking for dedicated, mission-driven individuals to join us in summer 2026 to play a critical role in keeping a close watch on our pools and beaches, making summer happen for millions of New Yorkers. The wage for seasonal lifeguards is $22.00 per hour. You can find out if you meet the requirements to become an NYC Lifeguard and brush up on your swimming skills at one of our upcoming Swim Prep sessions. All potential lifeguards must first pass this test before beginning training.
Civic Leadership Day Program with The Town Hall

Hosted at Fordham University’s Lincoln Center campus, this daylong event invites high school students to strengthen their leadership skills and explore how they can take an active role in civic life. The program aims to equip students with the skills, confidence, and network needed to become community leaders. After the event, students will spend four weeks identifying an issue in their community and developing a solution with virtual guidance from mentors. They will then return to Fordham to present their ideas to local council members, community leaders, and activists. Are you a high school student in NYC curious about startups, science, or business? The EFL Young EFL Young Ambassadors Program Program at the NYU Stern School of Business is a free opportunity to join real-world startup conferences, shadow NYU MBA mentors, and learn directly from founders, investors, and scientists. Students selected will attend at least one full EFL meeting day and one virtual prep session. Participants will receive an official letter confirming attendance, which can be used for school excuse purposes. Youth Action 50 (YA50) is a citywide leadership program that empowers NYC public high school students to take action on the issues that matter most to them and their communities.
